Carlos Manuel Zabala
Carlos Manuel Zabala was born on October 15, 1985 in Cardona (Uruguay). He is one of the youngest trumpet/flugelhorn soloist from Latin América, starting his trumpet studies at age of 9. Born in Cardona (Uruguay), Carlos Manuel Zabala is the first trumpet player with a college degree in performance in the history of his country. He attended the National University School of Music of Uruguay, and is actually pursuing a Masters of Music in Performance at the Peabody Institute of Music (Baltimore, USA), in the studio of Joe Burgstaller and Ed Hoffman. Carlos Manuel Zabala performs in the most diverse and unique ensembles. From tango, bossa-nova and traditional latin american rhythms to the standard classical repertoire. He is constantly working on discovering, arranging, and transcribing music from the most diverse styles and genres for both, trumpet and flugelhorn. Visit his web site for more information.
