Julia freelances in the UK and beyond, and is experienced as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral and pit band player.

From 2007-9 she performed with Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra, Chile on cor anglais and oboe. Her solos in Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde received the following review:

“We could not forget to mention the expressive and beautiful sound of the cor anglais at the beginning of the third act. Lovely sound, impeccable intonation, precise phrases, shapes and articulations, but above all an expressiveness that was fundamental for the resulting dramatic finale.” - El Mercurio

She is featured on a CD with the Oboe Classics label, and has performed with the Carducci Quartet.

With her chamber group Ensemble Suavis Julia has played for functions at Tate Britain and the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. She is also experienced in giving music workshops for elderly sufferers of dementia.
