Farrington Ensemble

Formed in 2001 for the 60th anniversary of the first performance of Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time, The Farrington Ensemble is an experienced and well established group that aims to challenge, entertain and enlighten audiences. The unique and flexible combination of instruments (violin, cello, clarinet and piano) enables the performers to present the most stimulating and varied programmes. The ensemble is passionate about contemporary music and regularly commissions new works, as well as arrangements of well-known classics.

Interaction with the audience is an integral and important part of the concert experience. The quartet presents its music in a friendly and accessible manner, with comprehensive programme notes and informative introductions by the musicians themselves.
