Richard Black

Richard Black

Since I was a teenager, around 25 years ago, I have accompanied every voice and every orchestral instrument. Highlights have included a couple of appearances at the Wigmore Hall (one whole recital with a singer, one shared) and a handful of BBC broadcasts, including sight-reading a solo live on air. Other venues include Carnegie Hall and sundry halls in Luxembourg, Paris and, of course, throughout my native UK. I have given several world and national premieres of works by significant song composers and recorded three CDs with The Artsong Collective. My performed repertoire list currently runs to well over a thousand songs, from the standard to the utterly obscure. Repetiteur experience includes over 2 dozen operas for many companies including recently Longborough Festival Opera (Wagner’s ‘Ring’ in the reduced version by Jonathan Dove) and Scottish Opera.
