Sveinung Bjelland - Norwegian Pianist

Sveinung Bjelland (born 1970) studied in Salzburg and Berlin with Prof. Hans Leygraf. He ended his studium with the highest degree and with distinction.

He has received many prizes and scholarships, and was in 1999 awarded the "Young soloist of the Year" by the Norwegian National Concert Institute. He has among other awards received the Robert Levin Festival Prize and the Shell Prize.

Sveinung Bjelland has performed all across Europe, and he has played together with musicians such as Emmanuel Pahud, Michael Collins,Truls Mørk and Pieter Wispelwey and working with conductors like Philippe Herreweghe, Eliahu Inbal, Vladimir Verbitsky and Stefan Asbury.

Bjelland has made several CD's for BIS, Simax and Harmonia Mundi.
