Björn Kleiman

Björn Kleiman studied at the Royal College of Music in London and at the HfM in Karlsruhe with Professor Ulf Hoelscher. Björn has taken part in master classes with Lewis Kaplan, Bela Kantona, Hugh Bean and Benjamin Schmid. Mr. Kleiman has received scholarships from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee and trusts such as the Ax:son Johnson Foundation. He was also awarded Byggnads Cultural Scholarship, presented by the Swedish Prime Minister, in 2005. Björn Kleiman has a strong commitment to contemporary music. He premièred Albert Schnelzer’s violin sonata in Germany (Karlsruhe, 2003) and has given many UK premiers In 2006 he gave first performances of pieces by Klaverdal in Paris and Schnelzer in London. Mr. Kleiman has appeared as soloist with orchestra and has two CDs to his credit. He performs regularly in the United Kingdom, Sweden, France and Germany.
