Sarah-Jane Dale was born in Glasgow and left a successful banking career to study music at Napier Polytechnic, Edinburgh. A scholarship then enabled her to continue her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Laura Sarti.
Whilst at the Guildhall she won many prizes and graduated with Distinction. She studied at The Britten-Pears School with Ileana Cotrubas, Phyllis Curtin and Phyllis Bryn-Julson, and in Russia at the Tver Philharmonic.

She recently represented Britain in the Rimsky-Korsakov Competition in St. Petersburg where she reached the semi-finals. Sarah-Jane has given many premieres and enjoys working with composers on their own music.
Since graduating, Sarah-Jane has been following a successful career in Opera, Oratorio, Recital and Concert work. Engagements have included singing at The Royal Albert Hall, British Museum , Wexford Opera Festival, Dartington International Festival and with The Royal Scottish Orchestra.

She enjoys creating innovative programmes and has a number of themed concerts on offer including A Night at the Opera, A Victorian Evening, Love, Passion and Romance and A Taste of Italy.
She also runs her own company, Melisma, with her husband, the tenor Andrew Morris, providing music for all occasions. They specialise in Recitals and Concerts, themed events, weddings and banquets, corporate entertainment and fund-raising events and can provide a range of instrumentalists and singers.
